Every year, MPs welcome hundreds of school children to Parliament and I always try to meet visitors from the constituency to talk about the politics and history of Westminster, the work of an MP and about local issues.
Local schools can book free tours of the Houses of Parliament via the Parliamentary Education Service. You will be able to visit the Parliamentary Education Centre which features Parliament-themed learning rooms, augmented reality experiences, 360° projections and sound technology!
There is also a travel subsidy available to state schools which could help to cover up to 75% of your travel costs. Please ask for more information when enquiring about booking a school visit.
All the information schools need to arrange a visit is available at https://www.parliament.uk/education/visit-parliament-with-your-school/
If you wish to speak to the Parliamentary Education Service you can call them on 0207 219 4496 (9am Monday - 5pm Friday). You can also write to them at Education Service, Houses of Parliament, London SW1A 2TT
Please note that due to demand tours need to be booked several months in advance.
