Copper Rivet at House of Commons

The Houses of Parliament have a long standing tradition of showcasing beers from different constituencies from around the country to promote local breweries to guests and visitors.

The House of Commons Strangers bar has now started to do this for Gin Distillers from different constituencies. It was fantastic to beable to get Anthony the Strangers Bar Manager to agree to showcase Copper Rivet Distillery our very own Gin Distillers based in the Pump House at Chatham Maritime. Their Dockyard Gin has been available and has proved to be a hit, serving it with grapefruit and tonic. I was really pleased to welcome Bob Russell the founder of Copper Rivett distillery to Parliament, so he could see his fabulous product on sale. Copper Rivet have gone from strength to strength since they opened in the old Pump house which was once part of the Chatham Dockyard. They also now have a range of English Whisky, one of only 14 English Whisky makers which are becoming increasing popular amongst Whisky drinkers. Copper Rivet is a truly great local family run business and I wish them the continued and greatest success.

Labour Government fail to intervene to Save Chatham Docks

Tuesday, 29 October, 2024
Sadly today the news came through that Labour’s Secretary of State Angela Rayner has decided NOT to call in the decision made by the Labour Medway Council to allow Peel Holdings to redevelop Chatham Docks. This now directly puts at risk the livelihoods of 1000s of local “working people”.
